Life is a Free Gift

Think back to when you got Christmas presents as a child. Did you earn them? Did your parents tell you that you would only get Christmas presents if you did many hours of chores? No. The presents were a free gift. There is nothing like a free gift.

Everything is a free gift.

Free gifts are all around us. We don't acknowledge them as such. When you receive a paycheck, for instance, you normally acknowledge it as something you earned, or worked hard for. But what would happen if you acknowledged it as a free gift?

The truth is, everything in life is a free gift. You never earned it. Free gifts were meant to be received, not earned. When you see everything in your life as a free gift, you will no longer worry. You will be filled with overwhelming gratitude. And gratitude will bring forth more free gifts.

It's all how you look at it.

We've all been taught to "earn" our keep. We've been brought up with the concept of earning this, or earning that. We were taught to work hard in order to make a living. "The harder you work, the more you will receive." Everything was based on a work/reward principle.

The bottom line, however, is how you look at things. Changing the way you look at life will change your life. If you think of wealth as something to be earned, then to you it will be that way. If you think of wealth as a free gift, then to you it will be that way.

Here's how to look at things through the perspective of free gift. You don't "work for" a certain company. You freely give your time and effort to the company out of the goodness of your heart. The paycheck you receive is not for the work you did. It is a free gift out of the goodness of their heart.

Here's another example. You shovel someone's driveway, and that person gives you twenty dollars. The traditional way of looking at this, is to say "you shoveled that person's driveway for twenty dollars," or, "you got paid twenty dollars for shoveling that person's driveway." The free-gift persective says this: "You freely shoveled the person's driveway out of the goodness of your heart, and the person freely gave you twenty dollars out of the goodness of their heart, and one event has nothing to do with the other."

The abundance of the heart.

In the free-gift principle, there is no 'give in order to get' mechanism. Everything is done freely from the heart. How does one make their heart abundant? By being free. And freedom comes from forgiveness. Forgive yourself, forgive others. Accept yourself, accept others, accept situations. That is total freedom. Being free is in itself a free gift.

Believe and receive.

Your wealth has nothing to do with your actions. Your wealth is related to what you believe. Actions may be the result of your beliefs, but it is what you believe that counts. If you believe that all wealth can only be earned, then all the action in the world won't make you wealthy. If, on the other hand, you believe that all wealth is a free gift to be freely received, then you will be drawn into a higher frequency of being blessed abundantly.
