Cleanse your mind

There are always certain things that I cannot get over. Whenever I think about them, they boggle and disturb the mind. They cannot be solved. What do I do in these cases? The same thing I do no matter what the situation. No thinking.

The source of all trouble is thinking. The human mind is only capable of thinking of earthly things. Even if there are spiritual connotations, the mind still only perceives earthly thoughts. The heart is what receives the Spirit. Rid the mind of all thoughts, because the mind can only bring sorrow. The mind will be used only when God directs it, not when you direct it. Cast all your cares to God. Cleanse your mind, purify yourself. No matter how pressing the situation is, if it is God's will, He will direct your steps with overwhelming passion. God's will, not mine. Take no thought for the things of the earth. Be careful for nothing. No matter what. Let patience have her perfect work. Never say "See, this is what happens when I don't think!" Be faithful. These incidents are designed to challenge your faith. Keep unconditionally casting out all thoughts.

The cleansing feeling resulting from a no-thought state of mind is worth the effort and the risk. The key word is "unconditional." The rewards are infinite. If trouble arises, remind yourself that this is trouble for the sake of Christ, not for mischief. You are simply doing the best you can. Your intentions are the Highest. If your intentions were of malice, then you would have to question things. But your intention is of a Godly sort, so there is nothing to question.

When I say no thought, I mean no thought. Not even happy events. Not even memory lane. Be as unconditional as possible. You are beset by attacks in this world. You will be attacked when you least expect it. If your spiritual muscles are fully strengthened to do battle for every second, then you will overcome, and you will leave the door open for God's blessings (spiritual and physical) to come through. Temptations are opportunities to block God's goodness. That's why it is so important to girt your spiritual muscles to fight off any temptation instantly.

Don't grow weary. Simply remind yourself that the rewards are always way more than worth the effort. You are trading in something for something many times greater. That is how it works. God demonstrates it every day of your life. This is not a barter system. This is an increase and increase and increase system. God multiplies your efforts. Whatever you give Him, you will receive it back multiplied. We are talking spirit. That is what is guaranteed. Everything else is just temptation and persecution. Don't do all this for the sake of physical things. Do it only for spiritual things, because they are infinitely greater. They are eternal. I have tasted these eternal rewards and they are worth the effort. There will be times when I grow weary and want to put my guard down and flow with the temptations. As I said, the only consolation is the great rewards. That should be more than enough. The keyword is "Unconditional."
